Find Your Light: Youth Theatre Experience

Find Your Light is an inspiring, convention-style event designed for students ages 8 and up. Spend a full day immersed in professionally led workshops in singing, acting, and dancing—all focused on building skills, boosting confidence, and fostering connections among passionate young performers and arts educators alike.
This day is all about collaboration over competition, celebrating the spirit of community that makes theatre so powerful.
Join us at the stunning P.C. Ho Theatre in the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto for a day of creativity, connection, and growth!

Here’s what you can expect:
Students will be split into three age groupings: Ages 8-10, 11-13, and 14+
Each group will experience three dynamic workshops taught by professional performers- designed to be suitable for a variety of skill levels
A chance for students to connect with peers who share their passion
Spotlight Awards to recognize exceptional effort and spirit
FREE admission for teachers to watch all workshops for their own professional development, plus an educator meet-up to connect, share challenges, resources, and brainstorm ideas in a casual, supportive space

Stacey Kay

Stacey Kay received the highly anticipated GOLDEN BUZZER on Canada’s Got Talent. Stacey was a finalist on the show who received rave reviews, and a standing ovation from Simon Cowell and the judges! Stacey is a Juno Award winning singer/rapper, and her unique, powerful singing voice paired with her machine-gun rapping has garnered her online videos millions of views, and has had multiple videos go viral!
Stacey has captivated audiences across Canada, the US, Asia and Europe. She has performed with/opened for David Foster, CeeLo Green, Stevie Wonder, Leslie Odom Jr., Bryan McKnight, Michael Bolton, Carly Rae Jepson, and more.
In 2020, Stacey became the song writer, producer and vocalist for Canada’s Drag Race host Brooke Lynn Hytes, and Canada’s Drag Race winner Priyanka. Stacey's songs were featured on Drag Race Canada Season 2.
Most recently, Stacey played the role of Becky In The Grand Theatre/Theatre Aquarius Production of Waitress, which ran in both London and Hamilton.

Shane Bransdon is an Australian actor/director and educational specialist based in Australia. He was the co-founder of the Junior Theatre Festival Australia and is the managing director of international performing arts tour company, Travel Gang. Shane teaches acting classes around the world for iTheatrics (NY), and was featured in the New York Times as a guest instructor. Prior to founding Travel Gang, Shane was a teacher and drama lecturer at the University of Newcastle where he completed his PhD, reseraching the ecology of the theatre industry. His recent show credits include CHICAGO, Les Miserables, Wicked and Mary Poppins. Shane is the artistic director of the Combined Schools ANZAC Service for the City of Newcastle.

Camille Eanga-Selenge is a Toronto based Canadian actor, singer and dancer. A graduate of Sheridan College’s Musical Theatre Performance Program, Camille has performed on Broadway, National Tours, and across Canada for over 15 years. Selected US Theatre: Broadway cast of The Book of Mormon, Original Broadway Cast of Paradise Square, North American Tour of Disney’s The Lion King. Selected Canadian Theatre: Sonya in Natasha Pierre & The Great Comet of 1812, Dorothy in The Wizard of OZ, a Ross Petty Panto, Chiffon in Little Shop of Horrors at the Stratford Festival. Film/TV: Odd Squad (TVO Kids), Brilliant Minds (NBC), The Boys (Amazon), 24 Karat Christmas (OWN). Currently, you can catch Camille as Nala in Mirvish’s Toronto production of Disney’s The Lion King.

3:00-4:00pm Final Events In The Theatre: Student show & share, “Spotlight Awards”, Q&A with the panel, and a special surprise performance!
(Students are given 15 minutes to transition between workshops because it’s a big building, and they can use the washroom, fill water bottles, or grab a snack as needed so they’re not missing out on learning time.)
