Performance Program: Grade 1-8
Choose the class that works for you…
Tuesday 5:30-8pm in West Markham at the Gibson Centre, 105 Gibson Dr.
Thursday 5:30-8pm in Scarborough at the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto
Find out why both parents and kids RAVE about this unique, specialized program! For anyone who begins Grade 1-8 in September, no previous experience necessary! Students learn & rehearse a musical, and perform a fully staged show at the end of each session. Costumes, sets, lights, microphones, and a 626 seat audience at our beautiful venue… it’s a true theatre experience! Each student receives individual coaching and direction, as well as scripts, written activities, tracks, video tutorials, and everything they need in order to put in additional time rehearsing at home. The learning continues outside of class!
We’re known for meeting each individual where they are, and helping them to feel comfortable stepping outside of their comfort zone. We coach students to embrace new challenges, which not only amounts to personal growth, but quickly builds community across the group. Each 2.5 hour weekly class is jam-packed with fun and learning. But more importantly, the values and soft skills acquired with each new session are immeasurable.
Students in grade 8 can choose which program they prefer; this 3 session Performance Program, or the September-May Teen Program. Get in touch for details and to discuss what might be best for your child.
Click here for all class, rehearsal and show dates for the year.
Please note that there is one Saturday date for each session where a mandatory rehearsal takes place.
For the final two classes of each session, class days will vary for the final dress rehearsal and show.
These two final rehearsals, and the show, will be at the Chinese Cultural Centre for ALL students.
For the June show, Tuesday students will need to miss an afternoon of school for stage rehearsal on Monday June 15th 2026.
Three Unique Show Experiences!
Madagascar- A Musical Adventure JR.
Fall Session 2025- Performance Friday December 12th 2025
(The TU and TH groups come together for this performance)
-
We did this show at Theatre Camp a few years ago, and it remains a favourite! It’s loaded with hilarious characters and catchy music, and we can’t wait to do it again!
Join Alex the Lion, Marty the Zebra, Melman the Giraffe, Gloria the hip hip Hippo and, of course, those hilarious, plotting penguins as they bound onto your stage in the musical adventure of a lifetime. Based on the smash DreamWorks animated motion picture, Madagascar – A Musical Adventure JR. follows all of your favorite crack-a-lackin’ friends as they escape from their home in New York’s Central Park Zoo and find themselves on an unexpected journey to the madcap world of King Julien’s Madagascar.
Alex the lion is the king of the urban jungle, the main attraction at New York's Central Park Zoo. He and his best friends — Marty the zebra, Melman the giraffe and Gloria the hippo — have spent their whole lives in blissful captivity before an admiring public and with regular meals provided for them. Not content to leave well enough alone, Marty lets his curiosity get the better of him and makes his escape — with the help of some prodigious penguins — to explore the world.
MADAGASCAR A MUSICAL ADVENTURE JR. is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International (MTI). www.MTIShows.com
Winter Gala- “Museum Of Broadway”
Winter Session 2026- Performance Tuesday March 3rd 2026
(The TU and TH groups come together for this performance)
-
In order to provide the most well-rounded experience for our students across the school year, our Winter Session is focused on building theatre and performance skills, and includes a workshop with a special guest artist! Students get to explore music from shows that we wouldn’t normally touch on when we’re busy learning a full musical. They’ll build their knowledge and repertoire exploring various scenes, monologues, music, and choreography! The final performance is a showcase of all that they have learned, with an entertaining theme and music that will have the audience singing along from their seats!
This year in “Museum Of Broadway” students will learn more about the work that goes into a creating a show from the ground up! They’ll get to work with a professional writer who will devise a script just for them! In the show they’ll journey through NYC’s Museum Of Broadway and explore a history of musical theatre along the way.
A Beat By Beat Musical- TBC
Spring Session 2026- Performances Tuesday June 16th (Tuesday Cast) and Wednesday June 17th (Thursday Cast)
(The TU and TH groups each do their own show)
-
Over the years we’ve done many original children’s musicals from our favourite writers out of NYC, Beat By Beat Press, and they’re always big hits with the performers, as well as the audience! The Grunch, which we just did in June 2025, is one example.
They’re currently working on releasing several new titles, so we’re going to wait to choose our Spring musical until we can explore their new works! Stay tuned!

Performance Program: Teens
Wednesdays 5:30-8pm at the Chinese Cultural Centre of Greater Toronto
After a successful second year and run of Mean Girls Jr, we’re excited to continue this offering... a natural progression for our Performance Program. This is a more advanced experience just for students grade 8+! Not only will these Teens be learning technique and many skills as they build a licensed musical production, but there will be a variety of specialized theatre workshops throughout the year, including some amazing guest artists! As with all of our programs, no previous experience is necessary; all we ask for is commitment, effort, and a willingness to try new things and PLAY!
In this program students are building musical theatre skills (and all the life skills that come along with that!), gaining performance experience, and creating lifelong friendships and memories in an amazing community of like-minded individuals. Participants are also given optional opportunities to explore their teaching skills, learn about backstage management, and more!
Teens will spend the first couple weeks in the Fall exploring various musicals, and will ultimately get a say in which show we do! Where our younger shows are multi-cast, this will be more typical casting to give older students the advanced experience of doing a full show in a role.
Students in grade 8 can choose which program they prefer; the 3 session Performance Program, or this September-May model. Get in touch for details and to discuss what might be best for your child.
Click here for all class, rehearsal and show dates for the year.
Classes run on Wednesdays 5:30-8pm from September through to May (NOT our traditional 3 session model). The schedule is created with busy high school students in mind; The program is only once a week with the exception of show week in May!
There will be a mandatory full day rehearsal on Saturday May 2nd, to prepare the cast to move to the stage.
Students will need to miss some school for final stage/tech rehearsals and show days between May 4th-7th 2026. (We moved show week earlier this year so that it’s further from exams and end of school events)
There will be optional additional performance opportunities throughout the school year.
There will be additional learning opportunities outside of class time- like set painting and helping back stage. These are optional and will be coordinated throughout the year (volunteer hours can be given).
Stay tuned for our 25-26 Guest Teachers! Guests of the past have included:
